New York Camera & Video is a family owned and operated business, located today in the heart of Southampton, Pennsylvania. Frank Cundari (owner and president) started his venture in entrepreneurship back in the early 70s. He would originally travel to local flea markets and deal with vendors. Quickly his travels turned into a full time business and he found himself in need of a store front. In 1978, Frank established his first store in a small strip center in Feasterville, Pa. The store was originally called Surplus Photo, and from the start the business was thriving. In only a few years time Frank had turned a hobby into a passion. His stores now became a key piece to growth of many photographers business in the area.
As the business grew so did the amount of store fronts. With multiple stores opening up in the area, you could now find Surplus Photo anywhere in the Bucks County area. After careful thought Frank soon changed the name to New York Camera and Video. No longer would locals need to travel to the busy streets of New York City to find the best deals. New York Camera was ready to continue providing excellent service and a great shopping experience. In 2005, the multiple New York Camera locations were contracted into one large superstore. The newly renovated 22,000 sq ft location would be a landmark to any local photographer. After all these years New York Camera & Video is still best known for its great family environment and unbeatable prices.
